Discover MacCallum House Inn and Restaurant

With its landmark water tower and Queen Anne architecture, MacCallum House, built in 1882, is one of Mendocino’s grandes dames. Under the stewardship of its young new owners (all Mendocino natives), the inn is more appealing than ever now, exuding an air not only of history but of luxury as well.

Each of the nineteen rooms and cottages, ideally situated in the heart of the village, offers a romantic and peaceful environment designed to promote the guests’ comfort and relaxation. Built in 1882, the main house features six bedrooms with private baths, each tastefully furnished with antiques. Many of these rooms feature claw-footed bathtubs, sleigh beds and ocean views. Surrounding the main house are seven cottages, each with its own unique charm. Most include wood stoves and private decks. The property’s original barn has been completely restored and now features six rooms with river-stone fireplaces, exposed old-growth redwood beam ceilings, lovely furnishings and dramatic ocean views. To serve the needs of larger groups and families, we recently acquired “Ocean Song,” a vacation rental just down the road from the main house, with dramatic ocean views, a fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms, a hot tub and a formal dining room that seats ten.



Every room at MacCallum House includes cable TV/DVD player, CD Stereo, a telephone, data ports, off-street parking and an array of newly added amenities. The price of every room includes a full breakfast in the formal dining room and a complimentary wine hour featuring California wines and hors d’oeuvres from the restaurant kitchen. Children and pets are always warmly welcomed at the inn.

The rooms range in price from $120 to $325 per night based on double occupancy (plus $25 per additional person in the room).
