We also have a child and pet friendly vacation rental just three blocks from the inn. The Whitegate Village Retreat has four bedrooms, three baths, a sauna and a hot tub. It can comfortably sleep eight and has a fully equipped kitchen. Rates range from $190 to $295 per night plus cleaning fees and taxes.

The Whitegate Inn is a classic fully restored 1883 Victorian mansion which was built by the town’s doctor. It is in the heart of the Village and within easy walking distance to all the treasures the Village offers. Step into the parlor and view the inn’s original crystal chandeliers, pocket doors and wallpaper. Relax in comfortable furniture while watching the ocean or just contemplating the beauty of nature.

There are two rooms on the ground floor, Cypress and Garden Path. Cypress boasts an ocean view from the bay windows, wood burning fireplace and our best bathroom with jet tub and separate shower. Garden Path has a canopy bed, a gas fireplace and garden views.

Travel up the elegant staircase and you will find four more perfectly appointed rooms. The French Rose room was featured in Sunset magazine and is a strikingly beautiful room with fantastic ocean views and a wood-burning fireplace. Violet, Spring Meadow and Daisy’s room completes the floor. Violet’s has a wood burning fireplace and a partial ocean view and the others all have gas fireplaces and great views of our award winning gardens.

Just steps away in our garden lies the secluded Enchanted Cottage, with its king sized bed, separate day bed and French doors which open on to your own private deck.
