Wineries – Husch Vineyards

Quality is the key word at the winery. It shows in the care that goes into growing the grapes and extends throughout the winemaking process. Our family invites you to taste our wines and discover the fruits of our labor.

Their Story
Husch VineyardsFounded in 1971, Husch Vineyards is the oldest winery in the Anderson Valley and has some of the oldest varietal plantings to be found anywhere in the Mendocino Wine Country. In 1968, Tony and Gretchen Husch bought the 60-acre Nunn ranch between Philo and Navarro on Highway 128. The land was well known for growing apples and grains. The Husch family soon planted eight acres of varietal wine grapes on a cool slope with a southern exposure. Lush plantings of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Gewurztraminer sweep down in terraced vineyards toward the pristine waters of the Navarro River.

Hugo Oswald, Jr., a pear farmer from the Santa Clara Valley, bought the Husch holdings in 1979. Today Husch Vineyards is owned and operated by a third generation from the Oswald family tree, Zac Robinson and Amanda Robinson Holstine. Jeff Brinkman, along with assistant Brad Holstine, directs the winemaking. Al White, in charge of viticulture operations, has been with Husch since 1973. But it has retained all of the charm and attention to detail that have made it a consistently delightful discovery for wine connoisseurs and visitors to the Anderson Valley.
